We don't allow dangerous, disruptive, or unpleasant behaviors. Prohibited behaviors include aggression towards dogs or staff, excessive rough play, bullying, excessive barking, disruptive anxiety, and excessive humping. We will discuss with you any observed behaviors and explore mutual solutions. If these behaviors cannot be controlled, we may ask that your dog be picked up and not return.
Reservations are essential. Same-day reservations are welcome if space is available. Late cancellations may incur a $10 no-show fee. You can find out holiday policies here.
We operate from 06:30 AM to 07:00 PM on weekdays and 08:00 AM to 07:00 PM on weekends and holidays. Dogs need to be collected by 07:00 PM. Late pickups will result in an overnight stay with our staff and doggie pals.
Proof of current rabies, DHPP (distemper combination), and Bordetella (or CIRD) vaccinations must be on file. Dogs without proof of vaccinations will be turned away. View your dog's vaccination status anytime in your online customer portal. We accept titer tests in place of DHPP or rabies vaccinations after one year of age. Titer test documents must show sufficient immunity and have a retest date. Other vaccinations, such as Leptospirosis, are recommended but not required. The Influenza vaccine is required, but we offer temporary exceptions due to the nationwide vaccine shortage.
For general misbehavior, we use the verbal command "no" and a squirt bottle of water if needed. If these methods fail and a behavior disrupts the playgroup, a timeout in the Caribbean Cafe may be tried. Disruptive dogs will be kenneled in our Caribbean Cafe until their parents can be reached. Dogs disruptive in Slumber Bay overnight will be kenneled in our Caribbean Cafe until morning.
A pinch-to-release buckle collar with your dog's first and last name is mandatory for safety and ID. If you don't have one, we'll provide a loaner collar. Alternatively, collars and ID tags that meet these requirements are available for purchase.
Dogs eight months or older must be spayed or neutered.
Illness or injury from daycare is rare but can occur. Owners are responsible if an injury or illness happens. Regular vet consultation is advised to ensure vigorous play is safe for your dog. Dogs shouldn't have a history of severe health conditions that would make play unsafe.
The following items are not allowed: bandages, cones, wheelchairs, stitches, AirTags, booties/socks, bandanas, bows, flea/tick collars, etc. Other dogs can eat them.
A topical or chewable flea and tick preventative, such as Frontline, Bravecto, or NexGard, is required. Flea/tick collars are not recommended.
We will isolate dogs with contagious conditions or injuries in our Caribbean Cafe. We will contact the owner(s) to determine action steps. A vet may treat dogs at the owner's expense if necessary.
Owners are responsible for any injury or illness, including contagious diseases.
